In 2008, Jessie left her career in teaching to give birth to her first child and to Learning Tree Yoga. With the help of family and friends, she has built Learning Tree Yoga from a storage space warehouse to a beautiful studio welcoming all children and families to shake out their sillies and find a stillness within.
An elementary school teacher with her Masters of Education from the University of Minnesota, Jessie not only loved sharing yoga with children, she loved children's literature. So she began creating yoga story time classes. Initially, she introduced a book or two within a theme, but then quickly noticed they were some of the little yogis favorite classes. She then began getting requests from libraries to hold yoga story events. Thus, BooksMoveME was born. A perfect blend of yoga and children's picture books, BooksMoveME weaves together early literacy skills and age appropriate yoga.
In March of 2020, with the Safer at Home orders, a quick shift to online content became necessary to reach and entertain yogis in their homes on their time. Our hope at BooksMoveME is that parents feel good sharing a yoga story time with their children together or while taking a much needed self-care break.
